Due to labor shortages, cities have turned to multi-hat inspectors as a cost-saving measure. Some multi-hat inspectors are not ICC/IAEI certified and may not be properly trained to inspect electrical installation. They should expand their knowledge by attending the in-person Electrical Inspections Basics course offered exclusively to ElectriCity participants. Program participants will be better prepared to take the ICC/IAEI Residential Electrical Inspector or ICC/IAEI Commercial Electrical Inspector certifications. The joint certifications from ICC/IAEI are critical to verifying safe electrical installation.
